Summer Fun and New Experiences!

I hope this eNEWS finds you having fun and making special memories with family and friends this summer. Oh how I love summer! And this has been a great one here in Michigan. Lots of camping, swimming, waterskiing, gardening and hiking. And our 10-year-old son Ridge is mastering wakeboarding. Yee Ha!

My “OWN” Show Audition Experience

I want to sincerely thank all of you that took the time to vote for me and my audition video for my OWN show on Oprah’s new network. Getting 7,000 votes in just a couple of weeks—that’s AWESOME! And all the wonderful—and I mean AMAZINGLY wonderful—comments that were posted. I especially liked the comment, “Watching you work is like being sucked into the eye of the tornado: one just can't help learning something immediately useful.” My heart just spilled with gratitude. Thank you so much!

OWN’s casting director indicated that if I were selected, I’d know it by now. So…  I guess that means I wasn’t selected. However, you know that I trust God completely. Doing it was fun, and I would not have been having all this fun in the sun with my family had I been selected. So, life is good!

If you missed my 3-minute audition video and want to see it, you can still watch it by clicking here.

Could Diversifying Your Food Help Prevent Food Allergies?

Summer is a great time to explore new food experiences. Any nutritionist will tell you, “Eat a variety of food for good health.”

So just how diversified is your diet?

Do you shake it up at the grocery store and farmers market by including rainbow chard, eggplant, bok choy, Brussels sprouts, peaches, mangoes and a variety of apples instead of the same old standbys? Do you mix up your fish, chicken, vegetarian, beef and pork meals throughout the week, or are you in a beef, chicken, beef, beef, chicken rut? And what about your grains? Have you ventured past wheat, corn, rice and oats?

Click here to learn why I definitely say, “Diversify your whole-grain portfolio for your long-term health!”

I’ve also appreciated hearing the wonderful comments from all of you who are following my new DIET FREE Lifestyle Program. Here are just a few comments from DIET FREE believers:
“I lowered my cholesterol 40 points during this program”
“I learned more in this program than I ever did with all of my times attending Weight Watchers”
