Tastes Like a Burger and Fries, but Way Better for You!

If you love a good hamburger, and your goal is to lower your blood sugar or cholesterol or trim a few pounds, then this totally delicious “Hamburger Salad” recipe is FOR YOU! This excerpt is from my longer video Dodging Diabetes with These 3 Foods, but easily helps with “ALL the things” like cholesterol and depression as well as diabetes! It’s mostly the same ingredients of a great burger, just “switched” around! Whether at a backyard party or at home or making this request at a restaurant, this is “a recipe that needs no recipe” and is destined to become your new go-to way to savor all the tastes of a burger, but in a salad! So much lower in carbs, calories and saturated fat and way higher in the cholesterol and blood sugar-lowering soluble fiber.

 

Hamburger Salad (The Recipe That Needs No Recipe):
3 cups of greens
A lean burger patty, seasoned with garlic and onion powder
Tomatoes and onions (plus cucumbers, radishes or any veggies you like)
1/4 – 1/2 can of garbanzo beans (rinsed and drained)
1/2 T dill pickle relish (or a few chopped pickle slices)
1/2 T each of ketchup and light mayo plus 1 tsp mustard
